Web sites are the best thing to come along since the telephone.
My manufacturing and warehouse business used to spend thousands of dollars on advertising expenses every year. Our budget only permitted us to advertise in one magazine at a time and radio and television ads were just cost prohibitive.
Even magazine advertising has it’s limits. Most advertising budgets are way too small to buy enough magazine space to get the job done. The black and white pages are expensive enough and color is four times the price.
When my company started using a web site to promote itself, our sales really started to snowball. Sure, we still had to buy a little magazine space, but now we were able to make the best use of that space by promoting our web site. Once we got the potential customers to view our web site, they were able to find dozens upon dozens of color pages just full of our products and service information.
Success breeds enthusiasm and it wasn’t long before we learned a few other tricks to promote our web site. Soon we were printing the web address on our business cards, signs, invoices, part labels and even our T shirts. Each one produced increases in sales as more and more people found and browsed our site.
Keep in mind that a web site is able to promote your business 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Unlike people, web sites never sleep or miss a day at work. In fact, in retail, with shopping carts, you can even receive orders while you are away from the job. Even while you sleep! I loved coming in Monday mornings and finding we had a stack of orders to fill.
Now I’m a semiretired hired gun. Well, sort of anyway. My background in business has taught me to look at the bottom line. I talk the talk and walk the walk, BUT, I’m not a computer geek speaking a language you do not understand. In fact, I don’t understand those guys myself. But one thing is for sure, I do know how to get things rolling and generate profits.
If you think you might be interested in having an effective profit generating web site built for your company. Contact me and we can discuss it.
